What the texts are for
We send text messages only to confirm and remind homeowners about a phone call they have scheduled with us about selling their property. We do not send marketing texts under this program.
How homeowners opt in
Homeowners opt in in one of two ways. Opting in is always optional.
1. On our website. Our seller and contact forms have an optional, unchecked box labeled “Text Message Reminders” that reads: “By checking this box, I agree to receive text messages from John Buys Homes (ZOOM REI LLC) about my property inquiry and calls I schedule, such as appointment confirmations and reminders. Message frequency varies, up to 5 messages per month. Message & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.” It links to our Terms and Privacy Policy.We do not collect consent for marketing text messages, and no marketing texts are sent.
2. By voice. During a recorded phone call with our assistant, Jake, after the homeowner schedules a callback, Jake reads this script:
“Is it okay if I text you a reminder about this call? You can reply STOP anytime.”
We send texts only if the homeowner clearly says yes. If they say no or don’t answer, we don’t text them. Opting in is not required to schedule a call or to sell a property. The call recording is kept as a record of consent.
